Job Summary:

The Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) is a vital member of our inter-professional healthcare team, responsible for delivering high-quality patient-focused care in the medical surgical unit. As a skilled nursing professional, you will practice according to the nursing practice expectations set by Osler, adhering to regulatory standards and legislative requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide safe and effective nursing care to patients, ensuring their physical and psychological well-being.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Conduct thorough assessments, identify patient needs, and prioritize care accordingly.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care transitions.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.

Requirements:

  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Minimum two years of recent experience in general medicine or inpatient surgery.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a member of an inter-professional team.
