Job Title: Plumbing Apprentice

We are seeking a skilled Plumbing Apprentice to join our team at Heat Tech Mechanical. As a Plumbing Apprentice, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of plumbing projects, from residential to commercial and industrial settings.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems, fixtures, and appliances. You will work closely with our experienced plumbers to learn the skills and knowledge necessary to become a licensed plumber.

Responsibilities:
  • Install domestic, commercial, or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems
  • Repair domestic, commercial, or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems
  • Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of plumbing systems, water supply networks, and waste and drainage systems
  • Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes, and fixtures in walls and floors
  • Cut openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipes and pipe fittings
  • Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, or soldering, brazing, and welding equipment
  • Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges
  • Determine piping system requirements and pipe sizing
  • Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes to the required shape and size
Requirements:
  • Registered Apprenticeship certificate
  • Experience an asset or equivalent experience
  • Physically demanding work environment
  • Bending, crouching, kneeling
  • Hand-eye coordination
