Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Estimator to join our team at GAV MGMT. As an Estimator, you will be responsible for creating accurate and timely quotes that meet the needs of our customers while being profitable for the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and analyze architectural plans and specifications to determine the type and quantity of materials required for audio video installations.
  • Establish take offs and material breakdown sheets to ensure accurate quotes.
  • Formulate detailed quotes for project design materials, using knowledge of standard company pricing, discounts, and estimating formulas.
  • Process revisions and change orders as required, and communicate with stakeholders to ensure timely completion.
  • Verify feasibility of special conditions with various departments and recommend cost-effective and profitable solutions.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation to support quotes and communicate with external and internal stakeholders.
  • Recommend innovative ideas and cost-savings initiatives to improve quoting processes.
  • Collaborate with the Drafting Team on changes and adjustments to quotes and orders.
  • Partner with the Project Management team on adjustments to quotes on awarded projects.
  • Organize and plan work efficiently to meet daily and weekly productivity goals.
Requirements
  • One or more years of experience in the A/V field in an installation or field-engineering capacity.
  • A post-secondary education in Architectural Technology, Construction Estimator, or related field.
  • One to three years of estimating experience.
  • Demonstrated experience reading architectural designs, schedules, take offs, etc.
  • Proficient with estimating software, tools, and MS Excel, with a working knowledge of other MS Office programs.
  • A self-starter with strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate with diverse individuals to accomplish objectives.
Working Conditions

This is a hybrid home and office position, requiring occasional travel to the Toronto office.
