Job Description

Role Overview

Cognizant is expanding its capabilities and seeking an expert Senior Guidewire Rating Business Analyst. The ideal candidate should possess experience in all aspects of a traditional Business Analyst's role, along with a comprehensive understanding of open systems architecture and rating.

Key Responsibilities

  • Working on Rating and collaborating with Business, with access to Production data.
  • Requirements Gathering through direct user interviews and formal/informal sessions.
  • Analyzing System & Functional Specification.
  • Facilitating Joint Application Design (JAD) Sessions with business users and development team to drive out detailed business requirements.
  • Identifying and translating business needs into clearly defined requirements for insurance policy administration projects.
  • Developing requirements documentation, including user stories/use cases, process flows, data flows, and report mock-ups.
  • Planning, facilitating, and conducting requirements gathering sessions, meetings, and presentations.
  • Building strong relationships within the business units and support functions to understand business needs.
  • Working with project collaborators during project definition to help the team understand risks, dependencies, and opportunities; participating in requirements definition and review; lending domain expertise to projects.
  • Ensuring proposed solutions focus on improving efficiency and effectiveness of business processes and are consistent across products where possible.

Requirements

  • Advanced experience with Rating.
  • Experienced Product Consultant with 5-7 years of demonstrated ability in GW - Policy Center/Billing Center and Functional Business Scorecard and Business Services.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to all audiences verbally and in writing.
  • Experience working in P&C domain.
  • Hands-on experience writing user stories is required, writing requirements, conducting requirement workshops.
  • Experienced with Agile SCRUM methodology and business analysis methodologies; solid understanding of business analysis documentation standards.
  • Consistent record of creating clear, concise work that reflects a deep understanding of business needs and the out-of-the-box software functionality.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Experience operating and working with business management, including negotiation and presentation skills.

Working Arrangements

Cognizant believes in providing flexibility and is committed to supporting a healthy work-life balance through various wellbeing programs. This role requires 2-3 days a week in a client location in downtown Toronto. Note that working arrangements may change based on project requirements and business needs.
