Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at Allina Health. As a Medical Assistant - Mental Health Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support to our mental health team.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist providers and nursing staff in delivering timely and quality patient care services, including rooming patients, managing patient flow, and administering medication.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Contribute to a safe and healthy work environment by reporting environmental risks and equipment malfunctions to your supervisor.
- Perform various clinical tasks, such as injections, procedures, and patient transportation, as delegated by providers or RNs.
- Assist with patient registration, scheduling, and front desk duties as needed.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age with education and/or experience needed to meet required principle competencies.
- Non-certified applicants with less than six months of Medical Assistant experience must have graduated from an accredited school with a clinical externship.
- Previous Medical Assistant experience and knowledge of medical terminology are preferred.
- Must meet at least one of the following requirements: current BLS certification from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Allina in-house BLS training within 30 days of hire.
Physical Demands
- Medium Work: lifting up to 32 lbs. occasionally, up to 25 lbs. frequently.
