Job Summary

Cansel is seeking a highly skilled Geomatics Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for collecting, processing, and interpreting geospatial data using advanced technologies such as surveying instruments, GNSS systems, remote sensing tools, and geographic information systems (GIS).

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct field surveys and measurements using surveying equipment and GNSS technology.
  • Process geospatial data collected from various sources, including aerial imagery, LiDAR, and satellite data.
  • Create and manage geospatial databases to support project planning and decision-making.
  • Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of geospatial measurements.
  • Adhere to relevant standards, regulations, and best practices in geomatics and surveying.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including engineers, planners, and environmental scientists to integrate geospatial information into project workflow and decision-making.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to geomatics engineers on data collection methodologies, analysis, and interpretation.
  • Deliver trainings and webinars to support geomatics engineering and land surveying projects.
  • Research and implement innovative surveying technology solutions to improve efficiency and accuracy in geospatial data analysis.
Requirements
  • Engineering degree in Geomatics or a closely related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Hands-on experience with surveying instruments, GNSS receivers, and remote sensing platforms.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in surveying software applications such as Trimble Business Center.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex surveying problems with strong analytical skills, including troubleshooting geospatial data issues.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and lead others in geomatics engineering concepts, standards, and computations.
  • Self-motivated with the capability of working independently.
  • Ability to work on multiple activities/projects simultaneously and effectively prioritize deadlines and competing tasks in fast-paced environments with organized work habits and scheduling.
  • Occasional business travel may be required.
