Paving Superintendent Job Overview

This Paving Superintendent position is available with our client, a reputable company in the heavy civil construction industry. The role involves leading a team to ensure the safe and timely execution of paving projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in asphalt paving, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to coordinate daily tasks and schedules.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead foremen in coordinating daily tasks, including personnel, equipment, materials, productions, and schedules.
  • Ensure crews are working safely and documentation is completed daily.
  • Estimate work requirements to complete project assignments and schedule requirements.
  • Coordinate daily with the project manager, subcontractors, suppliers, engineers, inspectors, and owner's representatives.
  • In-depth knowledge of best paving practices to meet requirements and specifications.

Requirements
  • Demonstrated knowledge of asphalt paving, including grade establishment and layout.
  • Ability to accurately read plans and specifications.
  • Ability to track and report daily job productions and job coding.
  • Ability to both lead by example and delegate responsibilities effectively within a team.
