Campus Security Officer Position with Condor Security
Salary Information:$16.00 – $18.00 and up, including employee health & benefits package.
About the Job:We are recruiting for professional Student Campus Security Guard positions at high-end luxury student residences.
As a security officer with Condor Security, you will provide excellent customer service, perform access control, and patrol the property to proactively prevent issues and respond to any concern or incident.
You will assist with orienting and directing new residents, helping them find their way through the residence and answer any questions on security and campus life safety.
Security personnel at student residences perform various administrative tasks to assist the Property Management.
Your day-to-day routine can be quite dynamic, responding in a coordinated manner with other team members to come to a professional and appropriate resolution to incidents.
Effective and tactical communication skills are essential, and we offer a number of training opportunities to improve this skill, such as the Verbal Judo system developed by Dr. George Thompson.
- Patrols and creating a security presence and deterrence is crucial.
- Unpredictability and maximum effect are of prime importance.
- You will walk the property, vigilant for anything out of place, recognizing any suspicious activities and responding accordingly.
- Once familiar with critical areas, these areas are patrolled more often to deter criminal activity.
- You will use cameras throughout the property to monitor access points and detect intruders and unauthorized activity daily.
You will investigate incidents, putting together reports coordinated with video evidence.
Police officers may attend the property and require evidence to proceed with a higher-level investigation, and your efforts may be the difference in apprehending a criminal.
Required Skills and Qualifications:We are looking for individuals with a positive personality, valid Ontario Security Guard Licence, effective verbal and written communication skills in English, excellent customer service skills, ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment, ability to work under pressure, standard First Aid and Level "C" CPR certification is an advantage, and other industry-recognized certifications or experience is an advantage.
