We are seeking an experienced Mortgage Portfolio Manager to join our team at Disability Solutions. In this role, you will have the opportunity to apply your expertise in mortgage portfolio management to drive business growth and development. As a key member of our Credit & Risk Management group, you will play a critical role in managing our commercial mortgage portfolio.

About the Job

The Mortgage Portfolio Manager is accountable for managing all aspects of our commercial mortgage portfolio, including origination, servicing, and default management. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing effective portfolio management strategies to optimize returns on investment and minimize risk.

  • Monitoring and analyzing portfolio performance, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing changes to enhance efficiency and productivity.

  • Building and maintaining relationships with external partners, including lenders, investors, and industry experts, to stay informed about market trends and best practices.

  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders, including underwriters, analysts, and risk management professionals, to ensure seamless transaction processing.

  • Providing input into the development of policies, procedures, and guidelines related to mortgage portfolio management.

  • Mentoring junior team members to develop their skills and expertise in mortgage portfolio management.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in mortgage portfolio management, including at least 3 years in a senior or lead capacity.

  • Post-secondary education, preferably in business or finance.

  • Bilingualism is an asset.

  • Strong leadership and coaching skills, with the ability to set strong examples for colleagues.

  • A working knowledge of AML/ATF regulations and Corporate/Legal documentation for commercial real estate in multiple jurisdictions across Canada.

  • The ability to analyze complex data sets and identify trends and patterns.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Proficiency in MS Office and other relevant software applications.
