Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health, Safety, and Environmental Manager to join our team at Omya. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the effective implementation of our Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) management system, promoting a culture of safety and environmental responsibility throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement HSE Policies and Procedures
    • Review and update HSE policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
    • Develop and implement procedures for reporting and investigating incidents, near misses, and hazards.
  • Conduct Risk Assessments and Audits
    • Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards and risks.
    • Develop and implement corrective actions to mitigate identified risks.
  • Provide Training and Awareness
    • Develop and deliver training programs to ensure employees are aware of HSE policies and procedures.
    • Provide guidance and support to employees on HSE-related matters.
  • Monitor and Report Performance
    • Monitor and report on HSE performance metrics, including incident rates and compliance with regulations.
    • Develop and implement strategies to improve HSE performance.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders
    • Collaborate with senior management, employees, and external stakeholders to promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory bodies and industry associations.
Requirements
  • Education
    • University degree in occupational safety, industrial hygiene, or a related field.
  • Experience
    • Minimum 3 years of experience in environmental health and safety.
    • Experience in a unionized environment is an asset.
  • Knowledge and Skills
    • Knowledge of local laws, standards, regulations, and policies pertaining to environment, health, and safety.
    • Strong computer skills with knowledge of SAP (EHS module) and MS Office.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to analyze situations accurately and recommend or take effective action.
