Nursery Worker Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Nursery Worker to join our team at JRT Nurseries Inc.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plant Care: Spray or dust plants with insecticides and fungicides, mix and prepare soils, plant bulbs and seeds, transplant seedlings or rooted cuttings, assist in grafting activities, and water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens.
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Clean work area and ensure a safe and healthy environment for plants and staff.
  • Product Knowledge: Familiarize yourself with our product range, including deciduous trees, ferns, perennials, berry bushes, fruit trees, ornamental trees, shrubs, and hedges, as well as seasonal plants.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Be prepared for physically demanding work, standing for extended periods, and lifting up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
  • Training and Development: Willingness to learn and train on the job.
  • Benefits: On-site housing options, permanent employment, English as the primary language of work, and 40 hours of work per week.
