About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Long Term Planner to join our team at Newmont Inc. in Timmins, ON. As a key member of our planning team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing long-term mine plans that drive business growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain accurate and reliable long-term mine plans, including reserves and resource estimation, strategic mine planning, and life of asset planning.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to determine plan and design input parameters and assumptions.
  • Conduct economic evaluations on mid to long-term development and stoping layouts and/or open pit pushbacks.
  • Execute long-term mine planning standard procedures, guidelines, standards, best practices, and planning improvement initiatives at the site.
  • Liaise with geology and geotechnical engineers, mine operations, and SME function.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in long-term mine planning, production support, mine operations, and design in large and diversified mine sites.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to influence, and high level of cultural awareness and sensitivity.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral, written, listening).
  • Self-starter and strong facilitation and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain a strong communications network with planning peers, Technical Services Managers, Project/Study Directors, Mine Managers, and JV partner representatives.
Working Conditions
  • The position is nominally located at Porcupine Gold Mines in Timmins, ON.
  • The schedule is 4 days on, 3 days off.
  • Will be required to access mining and processing areas, rough terrain, or exploration sites.
  • Frequent working at a computer/monitor or keyboard.
