Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Truck Mechanic to join our team at Davidson Contract Services. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our fleet of commercial vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
    • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements
    • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues with commercial transport truck systems
    • Adjust, repair, or replace parts and components of automotive systems, truck-trailer systems, and other related equipment
  • Quality Control and Assurance
    • Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions
    • Confirm findings with supervisor to determine whether to repair or replace units
    • Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer's specifications
  • Communication and Teamwork
    • Discuss work with supervisor and other team members to ensure effective communication and collaboration
    • Coach and instruct apprentices as needed
    • Complete reports to record problems and work performed
Requirements
  • Education and Certification
    • Other trades certificate or diploma
    • Truck and Transport Mechanic Trade Certification
  • Experience and Skills
    • 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a related field
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
    • Flexibility and reliability
  • Physical Demands
    • Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and tools
    • Willingness to work in a dirty environment
