Application Engineer, Salesforce Marketing Cloud

As a Cloud Engineer, Marketing Automation, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our Marketing application platforms, primarily based on Salesforce technology. Working within an agile framework, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet the dynamic business requirements of our global marketplace. Your expertise in cloud-based solutions, combined with your ability to work effectively with various stakeholders, will contribute to delivering high-quality, timely solutions for our internal business clients.
Meet Your Future TeamYou will be working on a small and collaborative team that works closely with various departments across Arc'teryx. We value learning and growth, and strive to deliver the best solutions to our teams using Salesforce and other systems. The team is responsible for building and maintaining our Salesforce Marketing Cloud instance, and is organized into squads that include developers, administrators, quality analysts, business analysts, and product managers.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with senior engineers to develop and implement solutions ensuring high-quality, timely delivery
- Support the maintenance and documentation of existing solutions, ensuring they remain robust and scalable
- Create custom emails, templates, and Cloud pages with HTML and CSS that render properly across different email clients, devices, and dark mode
- Build configuration changes, including automation studio, journey builder, integrations, APIs, email studio, audience builder, and subscriber management
- Build, utilize, and configure any Marketing Cloud customizations for Marketing Cloud Personalization and Data Cloud
- Perform proactive system maintenance and monitoring, including security reviews, release updates, email monitoring, and optimizer
- Assist in coaching and mentoring junior developers, fostering their growth and development within the team
- Engage in continuous learning and exploration of new technologies to enhance our digital properties and improve efficiency
- Participate in code reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback to maintain code quality and consistency
- Provide documentation, training, consulting, and insights on Salesforce best practices, trends, and upcoming features to Arc'teryx teams
- Focusing on growing and building scalable solutions on our Marketing environments
- Collaborating with teams across Arc'teryx on projects that push our guest experience to an omni-channel single source of truth record
- Developing personalized use cases in collaboration with our Data Cloud and MCP teams
- Maintaining our growing suite of Salesforce and other vendor products, including Data Cloud, Marketing Cloud Personalization, and Marketing Cloud Engagement
- Bachelor's degree or post-secondary education in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience as a Salesforce Marketing Cloud Developer or equivalent role
- Extensive email development background
- Knowledge and experience building responsive HTML emails that follow industry best practices
- Completed Marketing Cloud Consultant and Marketing Cloud Developer certifications
- Experience using AMP script, SQL, SSJS, HTML, and CSS
- Familiarity with tagging and tracking mechanisms, including UTM's, Google Analytics, and Pixels
- Intermediate experience with SQL in Salesforce Marketing Cloud
- Proactive attitude to platform enhancements
- Strong test scripts and thorough testing of solutions
- Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to create and follow documentation
- Demonstrated success working in an Agile methodology, familiar with tools like Jira and DevOps practices
- Experience in Data Cloud or Marketing Cloud Personalization tools
- Data Cloud certifications
- Excellent communication and influencing skills
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to plan and meet deadlines
