Job Summary

Davidson Contract Services is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Truck Fleet Foreman/Woman to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily activities of our truck fleet, ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of goods and materials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and Coordinate the activities of our truck fleet, including scheduling, dispatching, and monitoring the performance of our drivers and vehicles.
  • Train and Develop our drivers and maintenance personnel to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties safely and efficiently.
  • Manage Maintenance and repair of our fleet of heavy trucks, including coordinating with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective repairs.
  • Ensure Compliance with all relevant regulations and laws, including health and safety regulations, transportation laws, and environmental regulations.
  • Requisition and Manage inventory and supplies, including fuel, tires, and other essential materials.
  • Perform Administrative Tasks such as preparing reports, managing budgets, and coordinating with other departments.
Requirements
  • Education: Other trades certificate or diploma.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a supervisory or management role in the transportation industry.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent Communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong Organizational and time management skills.
    • Ability to Work Under Pressure and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
    • Knowledge of Transportation Regulations and laws.
    • Ability to Train and Develop others.
  • Certifications and Licenses:
    • Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.
  • Physical Demands:
    • Ability to Work in a Fast-Paced Environment with frequent changes in priorities and deadlines.
    • Ability to Lift and Move heavy objects and equipment.
