Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Thin Film Coating Specialist to join our team at Raytheon Technologies. As a key member of our Thin Film Coating Department, you will play a critical role in the operation of our vacuum coating machines, developing the skills required to become a Thin Film Coating technician.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate vacuum coating machines for the application of single, multi-layer coatings
  • Inspect and clean optical components
  • Prepare, clean, and load coating chambers
  • Perform metrology measurements, such as transmission, reflection, and ellipsometry
  • Contribute to a positive workplace culture

Requirements:

  • Completion of an Ontario Secondary School Diploma
  • Completion of a Post-Secondary degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Manufacturing)
  • Good manual dexterity
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of tooling, machining, gauges, and proper use of equipment
  • Understanding of mechanical drawings, blueprints, and interpretation
  • Knowledge and experience using measuring equipment
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to solve technical problems and make sound decisions
  • Motivation and a positive attitude
  • Willingness to learn and acquire knowledge/understanding through study, instruction, or experience
