About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Game Engine Developer to join our team at Electronic Arts. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for developing and optimizing our game engine using Unreal Engine 5.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize our game engine using Unreal Engine 5, ensuring optimal performance on multiple platforms.
  • Collaborate with designers and artists to implement their vision in a technologically feasible manner, leveraging your expertise in software development and multi-threaded programming.
  • Provide technical guidance and assistance to junior team members, promoting knowledge sharing and skill development within the team.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the Unreal Engine, including new features and improvements, to ensure our game engine remains cutting-edge.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and technical issues, ensuring the highest level of quality and performance in our game engine.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in a similar position in a video game studio, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality game engines.
  • Experience developing and shipping a game with Unreal Engine, with a deep understanding of its capabilities and limitations.
  • Proven experience in software development with C++, with a strong focus on performance optimization and multi-threaded programming.
  • Experience with multi-threaded programming and optimization, ensuring our game engine can handle complex game logic and physics.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with designers, artists, and other developers.
  • Knowledge of the latest gaming trends, techniques, and technologies, with a desire to constantly grow and learn, and contribute to the development of our game engine.
