Marketing Automation Specialist

At Export Development Canada, we're looking for a skilled Marketing Automation Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our marketing team, you'll be responsible for leveraging our digital toolkit and the Oracle Eloqua marketing automation platform to engage Canadian businesses.

Your primary focus will be on delivering personalized, tested, and optimized email marketing programs that create demand for our products and services and strengthen our relationships with customers. You'll work closely with our marketing peers to deliver on team KPIs and contribute to the development of hypotheses, tests, and solutions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing challenging and diverse projects simultaneously in a matrixed organization
  • Keeping up-to-date with digital marketing best practices, including usability, design/copywriting, email governance, lead scoring, lead nurturing, privacy, and legislative policies
  • Ideating, building, deploying, testing, and enhancing email campaigns and workflows
  • Collaborating with the Martech COE on lead nurturing and lead scoring vision and executing strategy within Agile Squads
  • Analyzing results and performance for ongoing enhancements
  • Tweaking templates (HTML/CSS) and workflow and proposing recommendations to improve to the Martech COE and Squad
  • Establishing and sharing best practices with other specialists within the EDC community of practice
  • Educating your squad on marketing automation best practices, capabilities, and limitations
  • Growing digital skills (e.g. SEO, SEM, Adobe Experience Manager, Social)
  • Using data to define marketing experiments that can be tested using email and digital marketing channels
  • Participating in agile ceremonies such as stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives
  • Maintaining an active backlog of new requests that support the marketing team
  • Seeking and communicating opportunities for process improvement across marketing functions
  • Championing data quality to build the depth, breadth, and quality of the marketing database for greater segmentation, personalization, and customer experience
  • Contributing to data quality by feeding the Eloqua Data Quality backlog
  • Conducting data analysis and segmentation to build nurturing campaigns
  • Familiar with GEN AI software and incorporating it in day-to-day work functions

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in digital marketing, with at least 3 years of hands-on experience as an email specialist in a B2B marketing organization using Eloqua or another marketing automation system/customer relationship management system
  • Undergraduate degree in business administration, marketing, or related field
  • Proven ability to deliver complex marketing campaigns using web apps, forms, landing pages, automated programs, campaigns, and professional-grade HTML emails in Eloqua or another marketing automation system/customer relationship management system
  • Good knowledge of HTML/CSS code for email development and testing
  • A high degree of proficiency with email marketing and B2B marketing best practices
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple projects at any given time while finding ways to deliver value to internal clients
  • The judgment to prioritize tasks based on competing priorities and to request help when needed

Salary: Salaries are based on qualifications and experience and typically range from $81,012 to $108,017 plus a performance-based incentive.

Location: This role will be performed from EDC's headquarters in Ottawa or from the community hub in Toronto or Montreal. Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates.
