Job Title: Ethnic Food Preparation Specialist

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Ethnic Food Preparation Specialist to join our team at Leela Indian Food Bar. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking complete meals or individual dishes and foods, ensuring high-quality dishes that meet our customers' expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate special events and determine the size of food portions and costs.
  • Requisition food and kitchen supplies, and maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment.
  • Supervise kitchen staff and helpers, and ensure a clean kitchen and work area.
  • Assist with immediate settlement needs of newcomers and/or refugees, and provide awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for youth, Indigenous people, and visible minorities.

Requirements:

  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a related field.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment and stand for extended periods.

Work Environment: Our kitchen is a fast-paced environment where you will work closely with our team to deliver high-quality dishes to our customers. You will be required to stand for extended periods and work in a physically demanding environment.
