About the Role

The Corporate Law Clerk will play a critical role in supporting the lawyers at our client's law firm. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented and organized individual to gain valuable experience in corporate law and develop their skills in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide administrative support to lawyers, including preparing and filing corporate documents, conducting corporate reviews, and maintaining corporate records.
  • Assist with corporate transactions, filings, and due diligence, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Develop and maintain corporate structure charts and transaction-related documentation.
  • Process registrations, amendments, and renewals for business names and partnerships, ensuring timely completion.
  • Collaborate with lawyers to ensure corporate compliance, searches, and filings are completed efficiently.
  • Mentor junior clerks and contribute to training initiatives within the firm.

Requirements

  • Minimum three years of corporate law experience in a law firm.
  • Law Clerk certification and membership with the Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate statutes and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
  • Proficiency in corporate software, including Appara.
