Cloud Solutions Engineer - Risk Management

CPP Investments is a global investment organization seeking a skilled Cloud Solutions Engineer to join our Risk Management team. As a key member of our team, you will design, build, and maintain cloud-based solutions to support our next-generation Risk Management system.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to team members on cloud technology and best practices
  • Implement financial product-specific processing in the cloud for CPP Investments' Risk Management system
  • Design and build robust and scalable cloud solutions by working closely with internal business partners, cloud providers, and GitHub community
  • Develop, maintain, and support cloud software solutions, micro-services, and user interfaces to enable future innovations
  • Apply cloud technology and build components through rapid prototyping exercises to solicit user feedback and implement incremental improvements
  • Support innovation in the cloud and contribute to sustainable development and automated deployment practices
  • Participate in the project life cycle from analysis to development and testing, applying best practices and hands-on expertise as required
Requirements:
  • Exceptional technology skills, recognized by peers as an expert in the domain
  • Experience in software engineering for Capital Markets and/or Risk Management preferred
  • Possess a passion for technology, staying sharp in the craft by keeping up-to-date with new technologies, tools, and trends
  • Demonstrated experience with Amazon Web Services Serverless technologies, including S3, Lambdas, Apache Airflow, etc., or equivalent Google Cloud or Azure
  • Solid Python programming skills to cleanse, manipulate, and present data preferred
  • Strong knowledge of both relational and NoSQL databases
  • Experience in utilizing modern SDLC platforms, such as GitHub Enterprise, Jenkins, and IBM UrbanCode
  • Experience modeling complex data structures, patterns, and relationships
  • Experience setting up deployment automation, automated unit testing, and code repositories
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to manage cross-functional and business expectations
  • University degree, preferably in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
