Labstat International Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Analyst to join our team. As an Analyst, you will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and operation of analytical equipment, ensuring the generation of accurate analytical results.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform integration of standards and samples, charting of calibration slopes, and monitoring of control samples used in the analytical process.
- Assist with method validation, method modification, stability testing, and the analysis of QC materials beyond the scope of routine analysis.
- Run analytical samples on required instrumentation, ensuring correct injection, proper integration, calculation, and recording of sample results.
- Perform equipment calibration and verification prior to sample analysis.
- Maintain the Analytical Standards database, record standards in use, and update records of retained and discarded standards.
- Update applicable QC charting for instrument calibration and control samples to monitor instrument performance.
- Record quality control parameters by constantly monitoring/calculating/charting (where applicable) of LFB, LFM, standards run as samples, and control brand results during the instrument run in real-time.
- Conduct thorough QC investigations when instrument or control samples data fail to meet target values.
- Generate reports that include relevant QC information and involve the combining of smoking data with instrument data, including reviewing the completeness of the data package and records associated with any investigations of unexpected results prior to submitting to the Scientist.
- Perform derivatization, solid phase extractions (SPE), and/or final dilutions of samples (or standards) to be run on the instrument, as required.
- Ensure proper performance of instrumentation/equipment by conducting maintenance and/or repairs, maintaining communication with the instrument repair representative(s) during service calls, performing equipment verification (syringe, pipettor), and glassware verification.
- M.Sc. or B.Sc. (Chemistry, preferred)
- Diploma (Science Laboratory Technician, Environmental Biology, or Chemical Technology)
- Chemical Engineering Degree
- Experience operating Gas Chromatography–Mass Spectrometry (GCMS) or ICP-MS, preferably with Agilent instruments
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience with advanced GCMS maintenance and troubleshooting or 2 years of experience in operation and maintenance of ICP-MS
- Understanding of chemical measurements and ability to measure solutions properly
- Knowledgeable in using, handling, and disposing of chemicals properly and safely
- Thorough understanding of contamination
- Able to prioritize to remain efficient
- Demonstrate patience/adaptability to change
- Work while under pressure and with various distractions
- Organization of tasks to meet deadlines
- Demonstrate effective communication skills
- Organize workload in order to complete daily duties
