About the Role
Island Health is seeking a full-time family physician to take over an existing practice in beautiful Port Alberni. The current physician is planning on retirement and will be happy to stay on through the transition, ensuring a smooth handover.
The clinic uses MedAccess EMR and has two experienced Medical Office Assistants. As a part of a larger group of independently working physicians, you will have the opportunity to cover each other during vacation times.
This role offers the chance to work in obstetrics, as a hospitalist, and in the emergency room at the nearby West Coast General Hospital. Additionally, Port Alberni has a new Primary Care Network that provides support to area clinics, including nurse practitioners and a visiting pharmacist.
Benefits
- May be eligible for additional remuneration under the Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA)
- Recruitment Incentive - $10,000
- Fee Premium - 7.98%
- Annual Flat Fee - $12,110.22
- Rural CME starting at $2,200/annum increasing to a maximum of $4,400/annum after 4 years
Requirements
Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC is required.
