Job Overview


This role is part of our School Age Team in the City of Kawartha Lakes, working with children, families, and community partners to create enriching learning experiences based on their interests and passions.



Key Responsibilities:



  • Plan and lead interest-based and play-based activities that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Maintain active supervision while engaging in play.
  • Document children's learning progress through observation, reflection, and research questions.
  • Create and maintain a safe environment that protects the health, safety, and well-being of children.
  • Assist with daily routines such as diapering, dressing, and eating habits.
  • Foster strong relationships with families and involve them in the learning process.
  • Collaborate with coworkers, families, and community partners to create a supportive environment.
  • Participate in team meetings, professional learning opportunities, and staff training.
  • Assist with housekeeping duties within the program.
  • Follow CELC, CCEYA, and Ministry of Education policies and procedures.


Compensation Package


This position offers a competitive salary range of $60,000-$75,000 per year, plus benefits including a mandatory Defined Benefit Pension Plan, Health and Dental Benefits, and Health Savings Account. Additionally, you will receive Professional Development Opportunities, Paid Time Off, and access to a Reduced Child Care Expenses program.



Requirements:



  • 2+ years experience working/volunteering with children and youth.
  • Familiarity with the Child Care Early Years Act and licensing standards.
  • Valid certifications including a Clear Police Vulnerable Sector Check, Standard First Aid and CPR Level C, and Updated immunization records.
  • Registered and in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators or equivalent qualifications.
