At Thomas Manuel, we are seeking a mature adult to join our team as a Homestead Farm Assistant. This role is ideal for individuals who have a passion for gardening and husbandry, with aspirations of transitioning to a homesteading lifestyle.
We offer a competitive salary of $45,000 - $60,000 per year, commensurate with experience, to support this journey.
Job OverviewThis position will provide the opportunity to develop skills in sustainable farming practices, animal care, and gardening techniques. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining our farm's gardens, orchards, and pastures, ensuring their health and productivity.
You will also assist with animal husbandry, including feeding, caring for, and monitoring the health of our livestock. This may include tasks such as mucking out stalls, providing fresh water and feed, and performing routine veterinary care.
In addition to these responsibilities, you will contribute to the overall maintenance and upkeep of our farm, including tasks such as repairs, renovations, and general cleaning.
Required Skills and Qualifications- Experience in gardening, husbandry, or a related field
- Strong physical abilities, including lifting, carrying, and working outdoors
