Job Summary:
Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) is seeking an Associate Physician to join our General Surgery team at Vancouver General Hospital. As an Associate Physician, you will work under the supervision of an attending general surgeon and be accountable for providing high-quality patient care and professional development.
Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical care to patients in the general surgery department, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.
- Work collaboratively with the general surgery team, including attending surgeons, fellows, residents, and other healthcare professionals.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care.
- Document patient information accurately and in accordance with organizational standards and policies.
- Participate in ongoing education and professional development to maintain and improve clinical skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
- Medical degree from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of two years of postgraduate training as a medical or surgical specialist.
- Successful completion of Part 1 of the Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Examination (MCCQE) or Steps 1 through 3 of the United States Medical Licensing Examinations (USMLEs).
- English language proficiency as per the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC) requirements.
- Eligibility for registration with the CPSBC in the Associate Physician class.
