About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Meat Cutter Specialist to join our team at Ontario Inc. As a key member of our retail butchery team, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our customers receive high-quality meats and exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and prepare meats for processing or cutting, adhering to strict food safety and quality standards.
  • Cut carcasses, sides, and quarters to create a variety of meat products.
  • Prepare special cuts of meat ordered by customers, using your expertise to provide personalized recommendations.
  • Cut, trim, and prepare standard cuts of meat, working efficiently to meet demand.
  • Wrap and package prepared meats, ensuring they are presented attractively and securely.
  • Weigh meats for sale, accurately measuring and labeling products.
  • Cut poultry into parts, including breasts, thighs, and wings.
  • Price meat products competitively, balancing profitability with customer satisfaction.
  • Sell meats to customers, providing expert knowledge and building rapport with clients.
  • Cut fish into steaks and fillets, showcasing our diverse seafood offerings.
  • Grind meats, creating convenient and value-added products.
  • Slice cooked meats, offering delicious options for our customers.
  • Prepare special displays of meats, poultry, and fish products, enhancing the shopping experience.
  • Shape, lace, and tie roasts, other meats, poultry, and seafood, presenting them attractively.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • A minimum of 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a retail butchery environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team, maintaining a positive and professional attitude.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ensuring seamless interactions with colleagues and customers.
  • Familiarity with cash handling and operating a point-of-sale system.
  • Physical stamina to lift, move, and maneuver heavy equipment and merchandise.
Working Conditions
  • This is a full-time position, with approximately 30 hours per week worked on a rotational basis.
  • The ideal candidate will be available to work a variety of shifts, including mornings, afternoons, and weekends.
  • Overtime may be required during peak periods.
