Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Truck Mechanic to join our team at JBH Truck Centre Ltd. This is a permanent full-time position, offering a competitive salary of $65,000 - $85,000 per year.

Key Responsibilities
  • Instruct and train apprentices in diesel engine repair and maintenance techniques.
  • Troubleshoot and inspect heavy truck equipment to detect faults and malfunctions, utilizing computerized testing equipment to determine the extent of required repairs.
  • Diagnose complex issues using advanced diagnostic tools and order necessary parts to maintain inventory levels.
  • Adjust and repair or replace defective components, ensuring all work meets manufacturers' specifications.
  • Keep accurate maintenance records and documentation.
  • Test repaired equipment for optimal performance and verify that it meets industry standards.
Specializations
  • Diesel Engine Repair: Fuel injection systems, exhaust systems, cooling systems, air conditioning systems, lubrication systems, engine control systems, major internal engine repairs, and engine installation/alignment.
  • Mechanical Maintenance and Repair: Mechanical transmissions, hydraulic transmissions, power take-offs, tracked vehicle suspensions, wheel-mounted vehicle suspension, highway vehicle tires, off-road vehicle tires, differentials, and brake systems.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • 1-2 years of experience as a Truck Mechanic or equivalent in the automotive industry.
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to lift heavy loads, work in a physically demanding environment, and stand for extended periods.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
