Society for Learning Analytics Research seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Data Science with a focus on human-centred computing. The ideal candidate will have expertise in visualization and/or data science to support transformative thinking with information.

Job Description

We are looking for an exceptional academic who can develop and maintain an active research program, including the application for research funding and collaboration with graduate students. The successful candidate will also teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate level, developing new pedagogical approaches that support our commitment to innovation and excellence.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and leading research projects that address real-world problems in human-centred computing
  • Mentoring graduate students and promoting their professional development
  • Designing and teaching courses that integrate theory and practice in data science and visualization
  • Engaging in service to the school, faculty, and university governance, culture, and community building

About Us

Society for Learning Analytics Research is a vibrant, interdisciplinary research-intensive school that brings together human-centred computing, design, and media in a collaborative environment. Our faculty members are known for their disciplinary diversity and trans-disciplinary knowledge creation.

What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary of $80,000 - $120,000 per year, commensurate with experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package. The successful candidate will also have access to innovative and collaborative teaching and research facilities situated on a beautiful campus.

Requirements

To be considered for this position, you must have a Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related field, with a strong record of research and teaching in human-centred computing. Experience in mentoring graduate students and promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in your research and teaching practices is highly valued.
