Supervisor - Paper Machine

Position Overview

We are seeking a supervisor to guide and plan for the Paper Mill manufacturing team, ensuring the fulfillment of annual operating budgets, consistent adherence to customer specifications, and the ongoing optimization and improvement of the paper machine manufacturing process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Promote a safe and healthy work environment, identifying opportunities for improvement and supporting our Health & Safety Program.
  • Coach and mentor employees to ensure maximum performance and productivity.
  • Maintain a communications program to keep employees informed regarding mill and department priorities.
  • Support compliance with collective agreement and sound union/management/employee relations.
  • Report to the Superintendent – Paper Mill.
  • Maximize paper machine production capability through the application of technology, best work practices, and management of continuous change.
  • Support the development of operational plans to improve paper manufacturing stability on the paper machines.
  • Accountable for driving and executing operational and CAPEX plans to resolution.
  • Identify, prioritize, and support execution of paper machine shutdown work activities for shutdown planning.
  • Review, monitor, and guide daily issues to support and coach operators and maintenance services to address daily issues that negatively impact paper machines.
  • Maintain and develop operational control to ensure paper manufacturing stability on the paper machines.
Requirements
  • Education: College Diploma or experience in a related field.
  • Experience: 6-9 years in a related field.
  • Language: English, written and spoken, French is considered an asset.
