The Opportunity:

As a key member of Maple Leaf Foods' Finance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of daily production yield reporting. Your expertise will be essential in validating that all production information has been correctly transacted in SAP, and you will interact frequently with various levels of the organization.

Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:

  • Monitor and ensure completeness/accuracy of daily production transactions from raw to ready-to-eat manufacturing processes.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in daily process order transactions in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Collaborate with the production team to understand root cause drivers of variances and required resolutions.
  • Run daily performance reports to validate completeness of transactions and ensure financials accurately reflect actual performance on the floor.
  • Work closely with the MES team and operations personnel to ensure all WIP inventory is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Communicate and escalate findings of write-off risks and slow-moving items to finance.
  • Consistently leverage opportunities to educate team members on correct transactional processes.
  • Assist with annual direct product cost budget process.
  • Facilitate trace for internal and external audits.
  • Provide ad-hoc finance department support and requests.

What You'll Bring:

  • Post-secondary education in a finance/business/data analytics-related program.
  • Manufacturing/costing experience in an ERP environment is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and advanced problem-solving skills with the ability to provide suggestions and recommendations.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to present financial information to non-financial functions.
  • Familiarity with SAP is an asset.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office.
  • Strong ability to work within a team environment.
  • Ability to prioritize work and manage changing priorities.
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment.
