Job Title: Manager, Projects

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager, Projects to join our team at Ontario Power Generation (OPG). The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising project management staff, developing work methods, and conducting performance appraisal interviews.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise project management staff and assign tasks as required.
  • Develop work methods and make recommendations to the Senior Manager regarding staff issues.
  • Conduct performance appraisal interviews and submit written appraisals.
  • Define project objectives, scope, estimates, schedules, and work plans.
  • Coordinate and implement project technical work and initiate the acquisition of approvals.
  • Prepare documentation and submit necessary proposals.
  • Instruct staff through lectures and field training.
  • Maintain and update operating procedures.
  • Prepare specifications for purchasing requisitions.
  • Recommend research and development programs.
  • Participate in training programs and prepare training material.
  • Contribute to the preparation of the Department's annual budget.

Requirements:

  • University degree or equivalent experience in engineering, construction, or manufacturing.
  • Certification by the Project Management Institute (PMI) as a Project or Program Management Professional (PMP, PgMP) is an asset.
  • Previous experience in a Nuclear environment is an asset.
  • Experience working in a regulatory environment is an asset.
  • Project Management experience within a Nuclear, Hydroelectric, or Thermal generating facility is required.
  • Excellent leadership, organization, planning, and time management skills are essential.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and communicate effectively is required.
