Key Responsibilities:- Warehouse Operations: Oversee and manage the daily operations of the warehouse, ensuring efficient and accurate handling of goods.
- Staff Supervision: Supervise and coordinate the activities of the warehouse staff, including the Shipping and Receiving Supervisor.
- Policies and Procedures: Develop and implement warehouse policies and procedures to improve operational efficiency and ensure compliance with company standards.
- Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory records and oversee the inventory control process, including regular audits.
- Shipping and Receiving: Ensure timely and accurate distribution of incoming shipments and mail to all departments.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent service to both internal and external customers, addressing and resolving any issues or queries.
- Leadership and Training: Demonstrate strong leadership skills by mentoring and training warehouse staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Facilities Management: Ensure the overall cleanliness and organization of the warehouse and public spaces.
- Operations Support: Oversee garbage, recycling, and snow/ice removal operations to maintain a safe and clean environment.
- Communication: Utilize effective communication skills to manage the transfer of shipments between different warehouse locations.
- Experience: Proven experience in warehouse management or a similar role.
- Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
- Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Inventory Management: Experience in warehouse/stock room operations; trade skills (i.e., mechanical or laborer work) are an asset.
- Physical Demands: Willingness to work in various weather conditions and perform physical tasks, including lifting and carrying.
- Attitude and Skills: Energetic, self-motivated, and positive attitude.
- Technology: Proficiency in inventory management software and other relevant technologies.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Approach: This role requires a proactive approach, a strategic mindset, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
