Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Trans-United Consultants Ltd. as a Plant Equipment Specialist. This is a unique opportunity to utilize your mechanical expertise in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance and troubleshooting of plant equipment, including UHT processors, processing equipment, bag and carton fillers, high-speed packaging equipment, and ancillary equipment. You will also coordinate with Production, Maintenance, and outside contractors to ensure that work is completed safely and complies with all necessary manufacturing codes, regulations, and standards (i.e., H&S, GMPs, HACCP, WHMIS, MSDS).

Responsibilities

- Maintain and troubleshoot plant equipment
- Coordinate with Production, Maintenance, and outside contractors to ensure safe and compliant work
- Improve and maintain existing PM systems
- Identify opportunities and make recommendations to continuously improve maintenance operations and efficiencies
- Ensure accurate record keeping and food safety & quality responsibility as outlined in SOPs and other training materials provided

Requirements

- Industrial Millwright license or equivalent experience
- Valid operating engineering certificate an asset
- 3+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably food industry
- Strong preventative maintenance and troubleshooting ability
- Solid knowledge of high-speed filling and packaging lines, PLCs
- Familiar with continuous improvement processes and methodologies an asset
