XR Input Software Engineer

The opportunity

As a member of the XR Input team at Unity Technologies, you will be responsible for building features that enable creators to ship immersive experiences to all XR platforms supported by Unity, from smartphone AR to VR and AR head-mounted displays.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement new features from the ground up, primarily for hands, body, and gestures
  • Create a consistent API across multiple platforms
  • Collaborate with internal teams and platform providers to enable developers to write once and ship anywhere
  • Work closely with Product Managers, Quality Assurance, and other disciplines to ensure the best possible product
  • Participate in an active development team, reviewing code, improving product quality, and contributing to future direction

Requirements

  • Strong software engineering fundamentals
  • Advanced C/C++ skills with optional intermediate C# skills
  • Working knowledge of Unity
  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills, including strong communication skills and a proactive work ethic
  • Experience or interest in XR application development

Nice to Have

  • Proven understanding of geometry and linear algebra
  • Profiling and optimization experience
