The Ironworker is seeking a highly skilled and physically demanding Metal Fabrication Technician to join their team.

Job Overview:

We are looking for an experienced individual with excellent manual dexterity, attention to detail, and ability to lift up to 45 kg (100 lbs). The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced industrial environment operating metal cleaning equipment, transporting materials, and assisting with fabrication and manufacturing tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain metal cleaning equipment to ensure efficient removal of excess welds, rust, scale, and other materials from metal products.
  • Transport raw materials, finished products, and equipment throughout the plant manually, adhering to strict safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with structural steel and platework fitters, sheet metal workers, and other metal fabricators to achieve production goals.
  • Sort and organize metal sheets and parts, scrap metal, and other materials for optimal storage and utilization.
  • Utilize hand tools to grind or chip excess metal from products as required.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of machines and work areas, adhering to company standards.
  • Load and unload vehicles safely, following all necessary procedures.
  • Read and interpret work orders accurately to ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Assist with measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling, and joining materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials as needed.

Work Setting:

This role is based in a busy sheet metal fabrication shop, with potential opportunities to work in various industrial settings, including metal products manufacturing companies, industrial facilities, marine works, construction sites, and more.

Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license and own transportation.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment with repetitive tasks and tight deadlines.
  • Manual dexterity and precision to perform tasks requiring attention to detail.
  • Physical stamina to handle heavy loads and stand for extended periods.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
  • Punctuality and reliability to meet deadlines and commitments.

Compensation Package:

We offer an attractive compensation package, including a salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications. Additionally, employees receive benefits such as health insurance, paid time off, and professional development opportunities.
