MNG Builders Inc. is seeking a skilled Construction Estimator to join our team. As a key member of our estimating department, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and detailed estimates of labour and material costs for our construction projects.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and costs, as well as excellent analytical and communication skills. You will work closely with our project managers, engineers, and architects to ensure that our estimates are accurate and meet the client's requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed estimates of labour and material costs for construction projects
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements
  • Operate CADD and other computer software systems to prepare estimates and reports
  • Provide economic feasibility studies and preliminary estimates for proposed projects
  • Advise on tendering procedures and analyze tenders to recommend awards
  • Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems to track project expenditures
  • Liaise with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure accurate estimates and timely project completion

Requirements:

  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 to less than 7 months of experience in construction estimating or a related field
  • Permanent employment with 30 hours per week
  • Fluency in English
