Punch Press Operator

We are seeking a skilled Punch Press Operator to join our team at Ethan Employment. As a Punch Press Operator, you will be responsible for operating assigned equipment, transferring finished product/output to appropriate areas, and performing checks during machine operation to ensure quality of production/work being produced and specifications are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate assigned equipment, including Punch Press and Calipers
- Transfer finished product/output to appropriate areas
- Perform checks during machine operation to ensure quality of production/work being produced and specifications are met
- Set up machine according to specifications and ensure availability of appropriate materials in preparation for production to ensure jobs are processed accurately and based on client prescribed guidelines
- Perform daily preventative maintenance on assigned machine to ensure optimal operating efficiency in accordance with specific machine maintenance procedures
- Troubleshoot basic problems/issues associated with assigned equipment based on prescribed instructions as applicable
- Escalate unresolved issues based on escalation procedure
- Interact with onsite equipment vendors to resolve any equipment issues
Requirements:
- WHMIS certification
- Experience working on Punch Press or Break Press
- Ability to use measuring equipment (calipers, micrometer, etc.)
- Able to read blueprints and/or follow instructions to ascertain set up and materials required
- Able to set up tooling, set gauges, and guards to produce a number of different notches, holes, and extrusions according to specifications on drawings
- Able to maintain production process in an efficient and effective state
- Able to install tooling and program depth gauges of various sizes and degrees to bend to form simple to semi-complex parts
- Mandatory skills: Team Player, Positive Attitude, Approachable, Willing to Learn
Working Conditions:
The Punch Press Operator will work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and other hazards. The successful candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production deadlines.
