About the Role

M&M Food Market is seeking a talented Food Retail Sales Associate to join our team. As a key member of our store team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, selling products, and maintaining a welcoming store environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide outstanding customer service by answering product questions and making recommendations.
  • Sell all products within the M&M Food Market product lines, using complementary and suggestive selling techniques.
  • Receive and organize deliveries, ensuring products are displayed and stored correctly.
  • Conduct inventory counts and maintain accurate records.
  • Participate in sales promotions, preparing window signs and handling freezer door strips.
  • Complete re-pricing of products as required for special sales promotions or price mark downs.
  • Implement marketing program policies and procedures to all customers.
  • Provide general light store maintenance, including cleaning counters and dusting shelves.
  • Complete banking procedures, including organizing bank deposits.
  • Utilize the Point-of-Sale computer system for sales information.
  • Participate in store opening and closing procedures.

Requirements

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to build a friendly, professional rapport with customers.
  • Appropriate telephone etiquette.
  • Experience with computers in a Windows-based environment.
  • Motivated and willing to take initiative.
  • Ability to lift boxes weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • Willingness to work in a cold freezer environment.
  • Previous retail experience.
  • Reliable transportation to work.
