About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Sr DevOps Engineer to join our team at Electronic Arts. As a Sr DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, deploying, and managing Kubernetes clusters in production and development environments. You will also be responsible for implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines to automate application deployment, monitoring and optimizing the performance of Kubernetes clusters and containerized applications, ensuring the security and compliance of the Kubernetes infrastructure, and collaborating with development teams to containerize applications and microservices.
Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, and manage Kubernetes clusters in production and development environments.
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate application deployment.
- Monitor and optimize the performance of Kubernetes clusters and containerized applications.
- Ensure the security and compliance of the Kubernetes infrastructure.
- Collaborate with development teams to containerize applications and microservices.
- Implement and manage infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Kubernetes and container orchestration.
- Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in Kubernetes and DevOps.
- Occasional off-hours support for development needs and support of the live environment.
Requirements:
- 6+ years of relevant experience with public cloud services (especially AWS, and GCP).
- Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer with a focus on Kubernetes.
- Strong understanding of containerization technologies such as Docker.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes cluster management and orchestration.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, or Go.
- Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automation tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and their Kubernetes services (EKS, GKE).
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
- Solid understanding of complex Kubernetes concepts such as service mesh, operators, service discovery, logging and metrics.
- Solid understanding and hands on experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tooling such as Terraform.
- Demonstrated expertise in network security fundamentals for services hosted on Kb8 in AWS & GCP.
- Understanding and experience implementing network resources in public cloud context, including DNS, subnetting, route tables, NAT, and firewalls.
Nice to Have:
- Experience migrating existing services from Cloud Compute (EC2) to Kubernetes.
- Experience with Continuous Deployment technologies such as ArgoCD.
- Experience with managing DB & Cache clusters.
