About the Role

We seek a Senior Financial Analyst to join our Finance and Accounting team in Toronto, reporting directly to the Senior Manager, Financial Analysis and Business Insights. As a key contributor, this individual will play a pivotal role in all aspects of finance, encompassing management reporting, data consolidation, financial analysis, planning, and modeling.

Main Responsibilities
  1. As a senior member of the team, lead month-end and quarter-end processes, culminating in the preparation of detailed financial packages for senior management accompanied by thorough variance analysis.
  2. Spearhead the development and maintenance of intricate financial models and datasets that drive actionable insights.
  3. Lead weekly and monthly management reporting, providing insightful commentary and strategic guidance to influence decision-making.
  4. Prepare weekly and monthly reports with detailed variance analysis to support cash flow forecasts and optimize cash position management.
  5. Collaborate effectively within a cross-functional team environment to address system-related issues and participate in implementation testing.
  6. Conduct in-depth analysis of firm costs and expenses, supporting strategic planning and forecasting for various operational areas.
  7. Drive key initiatives by identifying areas for enhancement, developing analytical tools, and presenting findings in a compelling manner.
Qualifications
  1. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field, along with a relevant professional designation (CPA, CA, CMA).
  2. 3+ years of progressive experience in financial analysis within a dynamic, matrixed organizational structure, supporting diverse stakeholders.
  3. Strong verbal and written communication skills; bilingual proficiency in French would be an asset.
  4. Exceptional financial acumen with a strong understanding of business fundamentals, coupled with outstanding presentation skills and the ability to build and deliver executive-level presentations.
  5. Advanced proficiency in Excel, including the ability to efficiently manage and analyze large datasets; familiarity with SQL scripting would be an asset.
  6. Experience with financial systems such as Aderant and Business Intelligence tools (e.g., Microsoft BI – SSRS or Power BI) is preferred.
  7. Proven ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment while effectively managing multiple priorities in an agile setting.
