About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Buyer to join our team at Magna International Inc. in a 16-month contract role to support our SAP Implementation.

The Senior Buyer will be responsible for procuring commodities, raw materials, process materials, goods, and services in accordance with purchasing procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Procure commodities and raw materials from suppliers in accordance with purchasing procedures.
  • Project annual cost savings for assigned suppliers.
  • Track and report monthly cost savings based on receipt history.
  • Ensure timely updates to MRP systems to provide accurate buying information.
  • Collaborate with the engineering group to identify cost-effective supply sources for new and upcoming programs.
  • Perform other reasonable duties as required by management to support SAP Implementation.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of commodity buying experience in the automotive industry.
  • Post-secondary education with a business orientation.
  • PMAC membership with a minimum level 3 status.
  • Sound knowledge of MRP systems.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills.
  • Professional negotiating skills.
  • Working knowledge of Trans4M applications and SAP is highly preferred.
