About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Underwriting Specialist to join our team at Co-operators. As a key member of our Commercial Underwriting team, you will play a critical role in evaluating and managing risk for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and evaluate large and complex account applications to determine risk, extent of coverage, and premiums.
  • Negotiate coverage and rates and participate in underwriting audits.
  • Develop and maintain positive constructive relationships with brokers.
  • Develop a team-oriented approach to meeting corporate and department goals and objectives.
  • Keep current on market conditions and insurance regulations and emerging trends.
Requirements
  • 7+ years of Commercial Underwriting experience, with strong mid-market experience.
  • Experience in Construction, Manufacturing, Wholesale, and/or Transportation and Logistics segments.
  • Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation an asset.

Expected Salary Range: $86,250 - $143,750
