Job SummaryThe Lead Child Development Specialist will be responsible for developing and implementing child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to lead and motivate a team.
Main Responsibilities- Develop and implement child-care programs in accordance with government regulations and standards;
- Lead activities such as storytelling, singing, and educational outings;
- Guide and assist children in developing good eating, dressing, and toilet habits;
- Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents and guardians;
- Maintain a safe and healthy environment for children;
- Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with colleagues and community service providers;
A Child Development Assistant certification (ECE level 1) is required for this position. A college or CEGEP diploma in Early Childhood Education or a related field is also required.
Work Conditions and Physical CapabilitiesThis role requires a combination of sitting, standing, and walking throughout the day. A valid first aid certificate would be an asset.
