This position is based in Montreal and requires bilingual proficiency in French and English. Extensive travel (approximately 70-80%) may be necessary, including trips to the US. Therefore, candidates must be eligible for a TN Visa (available to Canadian citizens) or possess another valid work visa for the US.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Translate client business requirements into practical technical solutions.
  2. Provide billable consulting support to achieve account objectives and production success. Services may include product installation and implementation, enhancement, integration, or audit to meet customer business needs.
  3. Conduct comprehensive application testing and quality assurance.
  4. Prepare all necessary documentation (specifications, design, system, training, user).
  5. Stay up-to-date with industry business and technology solutions through self-motivated continuous learning.
  6. Deliver presentations, both internally and with clients, as required.
  7. Mentor other consultants as needed.
  8. Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  1. Minimum 5 years of experience in business intelligence technical roles.
  2. Strong data architecture, data modeling, and data mining skills (e.g., dimensions, metadata).
  3. Data Warehouse/Mart knowledge and experience are preferred, including familiarity with common industry approaches such as star schema and 'corporate information factory.'
  4. Proficiency in Java for integration and customizations.
  5. Knowledge of and experience with databases, including one or more: Oracle, DB2, Microsoft SQL Server, Informix, Sybase.
  6. Experience with Windows and Unix environments.
  7. Client-server and web-based environments.
  8. Connectivity issues, infrastructure, and protocols.
  9. One or more of: BEA Weblogic, Websphere, J2EE, web development.
  10. Business Intelligence development experience and programming skills (SQL, Visual Basic, C, C++); Web/Internet experience (JAVA, HTML, ASP, XML, XSL, JavaScript).
  11. Demonstrated excellent problem-solving skills.
  12. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  13. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable Qualifications:
  1. Consulting experience with external clients in competitive situations (independent software vendor company or Big4 consulting).
  2. ETL software experience (any flavor, such as Informatica, AbInitio, etc).
  3. Experience with BI products and tools (e.g., Cognos, Teradata, Peregrine, SPSS, G5, Hyperion, SAS, MicroStrategy, Business Objects, Information Builders (IBI), Angoss, CRM, etc).
