Job Summary

The University Health Network is seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst II to join its Research Financial Services department. As an integral member of the Grants Management team, the successful candidate will perform a wide range of professional accounting activities, including financial statement preparation, grant administration, and financial analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with researchers, support staff, and granting agencies to account for and facilitate the administration of research grants
  • Oversee the set up of new grants and close expired grants in an accurate and timely manner
  • Prepare financial statements, journal entries, and reconciliations to assist with forecasting and financial reporting
  • Develop and maintain financial models and reports to support decision-making and analysis
  • Collaborate with institutional and external partners to complete audits and ensure compliance with accounting principles and policies

Requirements

  • University degree in Business Administration or equivalent
  • Experience with grant accounting and financial analysis
  • Three to five years of experience in an accounting environment with exposure to a range of accounting principles and practices
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret large quantities of financial and statistical data
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with researchers, support staff, and granting agencies
