About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Sawmill Machine Operator to join our team at Crabbe Lumber. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining our sawmill equipment to produce high-quality lumber products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Examine logs and rough lumber to determine the best cutting plan
  • Operate saws, trimmers, and planers to cut and process lumber
  • Start and monitor conveyor systems to move logs and lumber through the production process
  • Set up and adjust saw equipment to ensure accurate cuts
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning tasks to ensure equipment is in good working order
Work Environment

As a Sawmill Machine Operator, you will work in a fast-paced production environment with a focus on safety and efficiency. You will be required to stand for extended periods, lift heavy loads, and work in a noisy and dusty environment.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
