About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Labourer to join our team at Nortera Foods Inc. as a Food Processing Labourer. This is a seasonal position that requires a high level of physical fitness and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transport raw materials, finished products, and packaging materials safely and efficiently.
  • Measure and dump ingredients into hoppers of mixing and grinding machines, ensuring accurate measurements and minimal waste.
  • Feed flattened boxes into forming machines to construct containers, maintaining a high level of quality and productivity.
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers, responding to queries and resolving issues in a professional manner.
  • Remove filled containers from conveyors, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Manually pack goods into bags and boxes or other containers, meeting quality and productivity standards.
  • Feed and unload processing machines, maintaining a safe and efficient workflow.
  • Check products and packaging for basic quality defects, reporting any issues to supervisors or quality control teams.
  • Assist process control and machine operators in performing their duties, providing support and guidance as needed.
  • Clean machines and immediate work areas, maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment with exposure to various temperatures, including hot and cold conditions. The role requires standing for extended periods, manual dexterity, and attention to detail.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience in a food processing environment an asset.
  • Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays.
