Building Operations Specialist

As a Building Operations Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation of our state-of-the-art facility.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Regular Systems Inspections to guarantee optimal performance and efficiency of all building systems and equipment.
  • Proactive Monitoring of system performance to identify and address potential issues before they escalate.
  • Maintenance and Repair of electrical and mechanical systems, including UPS, generators, HVAC, Fire Alarm, and critical infrastructure.
  • Troubleshooting and Resolution of technical issues in a timely manner to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity.
  • On-site Vendor Supervision to ensure high-quality work and adherence to our standards.
  • Accurate Record-Keeping and compliance with industry standards and company policies.
  • Interaction with BMS and CMMS Systems to optimize operational efficiency.
  • Safe Working Environment through adherence to all safety protocols and procedures.
  • Collaboration with Engineers and Support Staff to ensure seamless operations and enhance overall efficiency.
  • Emergency Preparedness and response to minimize disruptions and maintain business continuity.

Key Qualifications

  • Experience working in mission-critical facilities, such as data centers.
  • Proven Track Record of working with critical facilities in both union and non-union environments.
  • Strong Understanding of electrical and mechanical systems, including UPS, generators, HVAC, and Fire Alarm Systems.
  • BES and Relevant Certifications are highly desirable.
  • Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving Skills to address technical issues efficiently.
  • Attention to Detail to ensure optimal system function and thorough maintenance documentation.
  • Effective Communication Skills for collaboration with engineers, technicians, and support staff.
  • Physical Demands of the role, including lifting heavy equipment and working in confined spaces.

Work Conditions

  • Location: Markham, ON.
  • Rotating Shifts (10 hours each), including days, afternoons, and nights.
  • Compensation: $30-$35/hour (open to renegotiation based on experience).
