Job Title: Data Engineering Developer with Quality Assurance

At Randstad Canada, we are committed to fostering a workforce reflective of all peoples of Canada. We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineering Developer with Quality Assurance to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for integrating a Data Engineering team that builds and supports data pipelines for the telematic program. This includes participating in the development of new data pipelines features and supporting current ones, as well as supporting the Lead QA of the team in implementing and executing the Data Quality Strategy.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software engineering, data engineering, or ETL development, with experience in Big Data and Cloud technologies for processing large volumes of data. Proficiency in Python programming language and PySpark Framework is a must. Additionally, the candidate should have experience and autonomy defining and developing automated test scripts for data pipelines.

The successful candidate will be part of a multi-disciplinary team that uses Scrum framework and is supported by Solution and Application architects and a DevOps team. The team is responsible for building performant and cost-effective data pipelines using Databricks, AWS, and Snowflake.

Responsibilities:

  • Integrate a Data Engineering team that builds and supports data pipelines for the telematic program.
  • Participate in the development of new data pipelines features and support current ones.
  • Support the Lead QA of the team in implementing and executing the Data Quality Strategy.
  • Participate in team ceremonies like daily scrum meeting, daily DevSync, sprint planning, story refinements, and sprint demo.
  • Participate with the team in its quest for continuous improvement and application of best practices in various areas.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • 5+ years experience in software engineering or Data Engineering or ETL development or Quality Assurance in ETL.
  • Experience in Big Data and Cloud technologies for processing large volumes of data.
  • Experience in CI/CD, Application and Tests delivery automation.
  • Proficiency in Python programming language and PySpark Framework.
  • Understanding of Quality Assurance in a big data context is a must.
  • Experience and autonomy defining and developing automated test scripts for data pipelines.
  • Languages spoken and written: English and French.

  • AWS (Lambda, S3, SQS, SNS, EC2).
  • Snowflake.
  • Quality: Pytest, PyDeeQu, Zephir.
  • Other: Github, GitLab, GitLab CI, Jenkins.
